We in Opensim are and active group of people we like to attend and participate all over the opensim, and like everyone else i like that too!.
I travel around the opensim, hypergrid alot, meet lots of interesting people exchange views, party and attend events, shows and explore a lot.
Now when we are doing that we tent to add friends, join groups take landmarks like we do normally.
I then head back home feeling good and get lost in work, after few days i remember and open my friends list and what do I see, no one is online? All gone?, they unfriended me?, how mean!. Oh well it was good while it lasted i think, then i realise maybe i'll send hi to the group and keep in touch with the great people i met on the the other grids i send a message and i get no reply there too?, i go squint, how can the world ignore me, how can it be that suddenly everyone hates me?, no one wants to talk to me not even hi?.
Now i'm wondering what happened, and curious at the same time, i check the land marks and they are there so i click one of them and tp there, when i reach their, i get a flood of messages from all the the friends i made and suddenly all of them appear online, and i get so many group notices it fills my screen!. I scratch my head and after meeting and greeting catching up i start to ask questions about my issue, and i get some pretty interesting answers.
Mostly we are intergrid connected and therefore we have intergrid connectivity issues, they dont communicate well with each other resulting in messages like “(busy response): Unable to send instant message. User is not logged in.” Region not found” “The region does not exist anymore” and many more.
Even the messages we sent and seldom reached either they are lost in between or reach after delay or never reach, same with tp’s and and Hypergriding.
We all wish when we say its open sim it should be open and I sincerely hope, and wish somebody is working on these issues and they are solved in the near future we want to be a part of this great world of grids, and people to people contact is the best when we meet.
I'm sure this is happening vice versa too!, and they are having the same issues as we do, Maybe the core of opensim has to be modified and changed according the prevailing requirements, every update is better is not true i heard that in previous versions of opensim therese issues were less, if so what went wrong and where? And is someone taking notice of the issues we Hypergridders are facing.
